Sony blu ray network update communication with server interrupted

We NEED party chat and cross game chat!!!!!! Here is an idea for you. Beat xbox to the punch. After giving us the chat features, be the first system to make trophies or accomplishments worth something.

For instance reaching level 55 gold cross on COD4 earns you a code redeemable for psn points. Give us what we need, then give us what THEY can only wish 4. Time to step it up! I am hoping for gamer support on my last comment. Lets all incorperate the party chat and cross game chat complaint in every comment until this is resolved. No TV sound is output from the speaker system. The sound skips or noise is generated.

The sound is output from both the speaker system and TV. The sound is interrupted while watching a TV program or content on a Blu-ray Disc, etc.

The TV sound from this speaker system lags behind the image. No sound or only a very low-level sound of the device connected to the speaker system is heard. The surround effect cannot be obtained. No sound is output from the optional subwoofer. Just get real and offer to reimburse purchasers of Sony DVD players.

Set a fixed amount, collect the model and serial and send a check or prepaid visa card. This effort would perhaps repair some of Sony's image. We truly understand your sentiments regarding this situation Jvinson. We are doing our very best to assist customers on this. May I know the current issue on your Blu-ray player? Are you getting a Network error when accessing Netflix? If yes, have you tried the steps I mentioned above?

If yes, please provide the complete model number of your unit. Thank you! Wow, I gave up on getting any help from the Sony techs several weeks ago. They said they had move the problems with my to the highest priorty and the engineers were working to resolve. Just check back into site and I see you all are still having the new folks suffer the same thing as you were 3 months ago. Sad, just sad. It seems that Sony can not solve the problem streaming Netflix.

I've given up hope on seeing a solution, and ever buying another Sony Blu Ray player. Why on earth would you buy another Sony! I think you deserve what you get! This looks to me to be the most reasonable suggestion so far. It would go a long way for me in considering the future purchase of a Sony product to know that if it did not function due to Sony, they would reimburse me and I could be about their business.

I have seen it used in other industries and realistically, with a good product, just replacing it to those few that have problems keeps down the complaint volume.

Anyone that googles Netflix problems and Sony sees a lot of bad press. I would escalate this issue in your management and ask what it would be worth to remove or reduce that many google items! I have provided this info previously on this site. I have tried everything possible. Do try to sell me a used re-furbed unit as the last lady tried to do. Ok I get it. I'm taking the BDP-S back to the store. Thank you for all of the info. Received another email that this problem had an accepted solution.

Believe this is a flaw in the layout and user focus. Believe people inadvertently hit the Accept as Solution button. Also saw a business article on google about Sony's woes in the financial realm today. Perhaps their lack of customer service is coming back to bite them on the backside? This series of posts has definitely turned off a few folks that posted, wonder how many read the posts and did not comment. Anyway, what goes around comes around Sony! Bet next quarter is worse that the last one.

Best solution is to return the Sony and buy another product Let's get organized to get this addressed. To do so, see this post! Then I cancelled netflix and after another year I resigned up with netflix.

Now I have had the same problem as many others My isp states it's the blue ray player, period. I have the same blue ray player, netflix is the same and my ISP is the same except that I opt for a faster speed. So I can't understand what changed from a year ago. Having read this site I don't expect a good answer from Sony or others Hate to say it everyone Understand the thought, but the likelihood of garnering sufficient interest and support to pursue legal action is minimal, and Sony knows it.

The best recourse is to continue expressing outrage at their product so more and more people distrust their products and purchase products with positive reviews.

Sony's financials are already disappointing the market, so continued pressure from blog and review postings is the best revenge and justice that posters here can do that have a possibility of having an impact. And needless to say, a de facto boycott on purchase of their products.

For me, the Sony era has passed and they by default are passing the consumer electronics mantle off to the likes of Samsung, Roku, Apple, etc. I'm very disapointed with the lack of action and response from Sony about this problem with my Sony BDP S blu-ray player. I've bought all Sony av equipment going back to the early s, but I will not spend another dime on Sony equipment based on this experience.

Received another email that a solution had been accepted, but no one has posted for two weeks. So what is the deal, why informed of solution with no postings? Assume Sony is either trying to make us think it is fixed or someone is clicking on the wrong button on a previous post. Either way, Sony stock is still down. And probably will continue to fall. Go Samsung. I suspect some folks are clicking on "accept as a solution" thinking they are approving the comment. The bottom line is that Sony has totally ignored this issue.

I'm sure they think we will probably eventually go away and we complainers are just a bunch of nuts. Just look at their stock. Their TV's are now lackluster.

There's just not much left to hang their hat on. If streaming is your focus and need, just go buy a product that works; forget Sony. Sony ignores this issue. It never happens with amazon, YouTube or anything else. Netflix works at the same time on other devices. It's sony. Ignoring these comments over and over is what keeps buying your product again. It's not your device it's your lack of caring. I have a BDP-S Of course, like others, I cannot get Netflix to stream in HD, even though all other streaming services work fine.

Now here's a real kicker. The newer model works fine. Now of course, the odds on Sony being able to fix this issue without recalling and replacing the offending units are esentially zero. But for those waiting patiently, rest assured a fix is simply not in the cards. It is time to move on. The Sony mods have offered nothing in the way of useful solutions for my BDP-S, other than the tired cycle the player routine.

For me, and I hope the Sony Mods are seeing this: My solution is to not buy any future Sony products. I tell my co-workers, friends, and relations, Not To Buy Sony, and will continue to do so, to as many people as I can, by word of mouth and internet, and any other way I can find, including telling people in store to stay away from Sony products. Sorry, but it sounds as if reality has finally set in.

We must all agree to never buy another Sony product or even consider a Sony product unless Sony agrees to reimburse each of us for the purchase of a new model smart blu-ray DVD player. The old units are good for door stops or boat anchors. You have the only solution! Folks, it is time to move on. This thread has been around since October of Sony doesn't appear to acknowledge the streaming issue, so the assumption is that there will be no fix for it.

I am angry as well, but have accepted that the product I purchased from Sony is not a quality product. I have been a loyal Sony customer for years, but things change, and Sony is now at the bottom of my list for consumer electronics.

Accept it, move on, and don't buy Sony again. I am now removing any notifications from this thread, as it does nothing but clog my email with useless responses. Good luck all-. I understand completely. But, we must all continue to spread the facts and keep the public alerted to the failings of the Sony brand.

If we do this we will eventually touch enough people to do some good. Sony's stock has already taken a big hit; let's make the hit bigger. Ditto to all. What a shame. The fall of a formerly great company. I tested accessing the same Netflix streaming via my PC at the same time it was buffering on the Sony Blu-ray player. Streaming Netflix via my PC never had a problem. This proves beyond a doubt that it's not an ISP or Netflix issue and narrowed down the culprit to Sony. I re-phrase that: Sony knows where the problem is, but chooses to ignore the problem thinking we will eventually go away.

Most of us understand that the Sony of today is not the Sony of yesterday. Just move on to other products and forget Sony; chalk up your expenditures for Sony products and services related to personally trying to fix this problem to a costly lesson.

There are too many excellent products out there to waste your time and money on a has-been. I wouldn't be surprised if they're routing traffic through their own servers so as to data mine for commercial purposes. I'm surprised there hasn't been a class action lawsuit yet. Simiarly for their false advertising on units that require an additional dongle. There's a lot of money to be made here and this will end up being very expensive for them. You nailed it! Let's go to twitter sonynoflix. In my opinion, Brian P you have no shame.

Still no answer Sony mods? They're helpless and are tied by Sony's "don't give a rat's a Just move on and buy ABS anybody but Sony products. Once again, I have been told that my issue has been answered, assumably because someone clicked the Accept as Solution button. Other than the purchase of a non Sony product. Can't believe Sony just has reps sitting there reading this BS and providing no relief to custormers, most of which continue to complain and purchase replacement products from other vendors.

Must admit, I doubt I ever purchase another Sony. I agree and understand your frustration. I too keep getting these "accepted solutions" emails. I believe people think they are agreeing with you when they click "accept as a solution. Sony reaped the profits from selling defective merchandise; they have no intention of accepting blame.

Let's just try to help out Sony by reducing their customer base. Junk the defective Sony component, go buy from a legitimate competitor, and move on. The Silence from the Sony Moderators, about this problem, and lack of action, or solution, speaks volumes. Hello Jayandtheimp! We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused and sorry for any disappointment.

We are constantly trying our best to assist our valuable customers. Please let us know the exact issue you are facing with the Blu ray player and the Netflix to assist you better. Thanks Ashley. OK, moderator - I'll take you up.

Both have identical connectivity settings the user interface is of course virtually identical. The issus as always is with Netflix streaming. The S will stream Netflix at an appropriate high resolution or The S will rarely get above All other services stream appropriately on both products. For months, people have been asing you when Sony is going to fix this issue or offer a refund. All we get are the same lame suggestions that have been proven not to work by multiple users on this and other related threads read them please.

No fair and equitable solution has ever been suggested. Your product does not work as advertised - now do the right thing. It is obvious that your past product hardware is faulty. Your new products now work, why do you continue to stonewall on the old? I've done all the resetting recommended as linked above, with my hardwired BDP-S Netflix streams so poorly as to be useless, as mentioned by the previous poster. Plenty of others in this thread are in the same boat. We are sorry to hear that.

Please check whether your Blu ray player is running with latest firmware M Thanks Andrew. Jamandtheimp, please let us know how that works out for you and your Sony product. For those dollars I could just buy a new unit from a competing brand and be done with the issue. Get Serious Sony. It's cheaper for Sony to just ship us a replacement new model and tell us to dispose of the defective unit.

Use your Brain, Sony! Did you ever solve the buffering issue with the BDP S? I'm having the same problem over the past 8 months. Our DVD goes from 18 mbps down to. The DVD is the high priority on the router and speed tests are at 32 mbps plus. I think the "Solution" accepted replies are for dumping Sony and buy another brand. We have tried to solve this problem since August I plan to donate the DVD player to our local charity that houses homeless children. There's no future in expecting any help from Sony.

Dump the junk, buy another brand DVD player or get a Roku. Sony is totally asleep at the wheel. We went out today and bought an Amazon FireTV. Hopefully that works better. I'm done with Sony. Thanks Bob. Bob Have you been living in a cave???????? We have all tried countless times with no improvement. The problem with Netflix resides in your product.

I, as well as many others will never buy another Sony product again unless you offer a real solution. Sony should send us our money back and tell us to dump the junk; or in the least, since us a reasonable credit toward a replacement unit.

Prove us wrong; show us Sony really wants to cure this problem once and for good. This page is part of archived documentation for openHAB 3. Go to the current stable version. Almost all features of the various models of this player line are supported by the binding. This binding was tested on a BDP only, so there might be issues with other models that will need to be fixed.

Please report any issues found. Also review the notes below for some important usage caveats. You don't need to have your player device directly connected to your openHAB server.

You can connect it for example to a Raspberry Pi and use ser2net Linux tool opens new window to make the serial connection available on LAN serial over IP. There is exactly one supported thing type, which represents the player.

It has the player id.
